ORNAMENT ARTIST

Artist, Joy Quezada

Joy Quezada is a self-taught mixed media artist known best for her photorealism. Born in Queretaro Mexico, Joy moved to the Charleston WV ,where her mother was born and raised ,with her family at the age of 5. Her father’s career later transferred her family to the Shenandoah Valley where she resides today. Her formative years were filled with outdoor adventures and a love for animals which contributed to Joy’s early works including landscape, pet portraits and local wildlife. Growing up Joy explored many different mediums and subjects including acrylic, watercolor and graphite. As an adult Joy started her family young after meeting the love of her life and set art to the side for a 9-5 job. Never losing the yearning to paint and create, she quit her 9-5 to become

A special education teaching assistant which allowed her to have a job she loved and time to paint and grow her art career. Today, Joy has had many commissions and opportunities including but not limited to a large-scale Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco mural, 48 X 60 vintage downtown Charles Town acrylic on stretched canvas and many more.

Artist, Rashedul Deepon

Rashedul Hasan Deepon is the City Planner at the City of Charles Town. He completed his Bachelors in Architecture from Dhaka, Bangladesh, and his Masters in Urban Planning from the City University of  New York (CUNY) at Hunter College. His talents extend far beyond community building and planning, and into a creative world of art. He has created this lovely outline of our historically hip downtown main street
